Highland Perthshire
A castle, pretty town, walk and a drive through some picturesque Highland scenery.
This is the best way to see the Highlands if you don’t want one of our longer 12 hour itineraries. After an hour and a half’s drive north from Edinburgh, we’ll take you for a gentle walk through a forested area known as The Hermitage to view a waterfall where there’s always a chance of seeing salmon leaping (although it’s never guaranteed).
At lunch, you’ll be able to explore the picture-postcard Highland town of Pitlochry, which has a great selection of places to eat and shop.
In the afternoon, we’ll take you to Blair Castle (entry £17 per person) the traditional home of the Dukes of Atholl and a masterpiece of Scots Baronial architecture.
Finally, we’ll drive back to Edinburgh through a beautiful part of the Highlands known as The Sma’ Glen.
